Individual Grief Tending Appointments

When you “tend to” something, you actively watch over and care for it.

These “tending” appointments offer the activity of meeting together one-on-one to focus on your grief so that your natural propensity to flourish and generate warmth are attended to.

See the navigation bar along the top of the website titled: Appointments. Thank you.

Where your scars become sacred maps."

TESTIMONIAL:

“I began without a firm understanding of what to expect. I knew I wanted to deepen my awareness of my own grief journey and better understand my reaction to the many losses I had suffered throughout my life including deaths and divorces as well as the loss of friendships and pets. From the start, I found Kim’s coaching to be on point. She quickly assessed where I was at along my grief journey and was easily able to understand my needs. I experienced Kim to be a skilled healer with an intuitive nature. Through our sessions, I found myself able to erase doubts, blockages and guilt and to release trauma while seeing things with a new, more open perspective. I am grateful for my experience working with Kim, tending to my past and providing the tools necessary to help me along the way.”

Death Doula

I have accompanied, at the time of this writing, four people in their process of crossing over as well as having volunteered within the hospice system. These types of relationships are very personal and intimate. Contact me to discuss.

End-Of-Life or Existential Sessions

Goals are steered by the client, but examples are helpful. Some goals of this type of tending may include processing death and dying, facilitating open and honest conversations regarding death, facing one’s own death and/or building a support network to become more ready to face death.

Ancestor Work and White Privilege Healing for Grieving People

My ancestors came from the Northumbrian area in the early 1900’s so my heritage is celtic… I now reside on the unceded lands of the Luiseño and Kumeyaay people.

I can offer depth assistance, having trained with current thought leaders like Daniel Foor and Jon Young. We will increase freedom by untangling ancestral bonds to colonizing impulses and fostering a reunion with a balanced and fruitful relationship with your ancestors.

Team and Institutional Grief Tending

GOAL: A COMPASSIONATE WORKPLACE / TEAM

Consider the following findings from the “Grief Index” study. Among the 25,000 participants:

•85% of management-level decision makers indicated that their decision-making ranked from “very poor” to “fair” in the weeks or months following the grief incident that affected them.

•90% of those in blue collar / physical jobs indicated a higher incidence of physical injuries due to reduced concentration in the weeks or months following the grief incident.

•75% of all study participants indicated that reduced capacity affected them significantly beyond the allowed leave.

•50% reported at least 30 days in which their value to the company or business was dramatically reduced, and may have had significant negative consequences in the form of poor decision making, poor supervisory skills, reduced sales ability and increased workplace accidents and injuries.

Grief is a universal human experience, yet workplace culture can often be inhospitable to people suffering profound loss. If the dying or deceased person is part of your team or well known by your team, understand you will likely have varied individual and corporate (group/community) grief responses. Creating a culture that signals to people what they can expect and how they can be safe when in grief is key for healthy teams. Contact me and we can customize your program.

Expressive Arts for Grieving People

I offer numerous types of flexible and creative experiences - people who are anxious about not being creative usually thrive in these workshops or one-on-one experiences. I love this part of the work and the doors it opens for people and their grief work!

Spirit Tending

You can aid yourself in growing spiritually, listening from within, and experiencing oneness. Spirit Tending is a nurturing relationship with a trusted companion who has set themselves apart for these activities with you and has studied rich paths for the spiritual journey - a spiritual companion can join you in tending to your meaning, purpose, and mystery.

Some estimate that over 70% of people who work with a trusted companion in these ways see deep, rich benefits. Areas that often manifest concrete growth in most people appear to be:

  • Self-Awareness

  • Self-Confidence

  • Self-Leadership

  • Relationship to Power

  • Relationship to Fear and Love

  • Relationships with Others

I am conversant in diverse spiritual paths, I can draw from Sufi, Buddhist and Christian roots. Additionally, I have training in Human Design, Prepare/Enrich, the Enneagram, MBTI, DISC, Reiki (3rd degree Reiki Master), and expressive arts.

Vocational Exploration

Existential considerations often lead to asking questions regarding your life’s work and vocation. I can facilitate your career exploration through a variety of tests and exercises coupled with discussion. When asking what to do with your “wild and precious life” it is wise to open doors to a variety of concepts and experiences to further flesh out your unique place in the world.
